You may like to bring a notebook for recording any thoughts/reflections during the day.
Tick repellant
There is a moderate to high risk of ticks in Abbots Leigh and surrounding Bristol woodlands. Wear long sleeved trousers tucked into socks or boots and long sleeved light coloured clothing to create a barrier. It is wise to perform a thorough check on skin and clothing after being out in the woods in summer.
Seeds of the Cycle
A day workshop for mothers/carers and girls 8 - 11 to learn about the menstrual cycle and the transition to womanhood through nature, curiosity and intergenerational conversation.
The program is designed to help girls to feel that this knowledge is already familiar and natural by grounding learning in the rhythms of seasons, cycles and the natural world.
The experience is not sex education. Instead it focuses on women’s anatomy, bodily awareness and the wisdom of cycles delivered in a playful, practical and nourishing way.
